SURFACE PREPARATION

Prior to application it is important to determine if the existing asbestos material is well adhered to the substrate.  Correct any surface defects and clean all surfaces thoroughly. Be careful not to agitate asbestos fibers during preparation; this could increase asbestos exposure.  Use a vaccuum with a HEPA Filter to remove excess dust from the surface.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

Measure the circumference of the outter surface of the insulation.  Cut the Rewettable Lag Cloth to appropriate size making sure to account for a reasonable overlap.  Dip the Rewettable Lag Cloth in water and smooth out excess water from the material.  Apply the Lag Cloth over the pipe insulation allowing the lap to be placed in a downward position.  Overlap the next section with a 2-4" overlap depending on pipe size.  Use your hands to smooth out any wrinkles in the material.

DRY TIME:

Rewettable Lag Cloth installed on piping that is hot will speed up the dry time of the material.
