Jacketing Rolls

ALUMINUM JACKETING ROLLS

Aluminum Roll Jacketing is made from 3003 and 3105 series aluminum conforming to ASTM B-209 standards . The interior of these rolls are lined with a 3 mil thick co-extruded Surlyn and Polyethylene moisture retarder. This film is laminated to the aluminum jacketing by a process of heat in conjunction with pressure. The exterior of the aluminum jacketing is a bare mill finish. The Polysurlyn Moisture Retarder provides an excellent resistance to moisture and has excellent abrasion resistance during install. Aluminum Jacketing is available in smooth, corrugated (cross crimped), or stucco embossed finishes. Thicknesses come in 0.016", 0.020", 0.024", and 0.032".

Product Application:

016" (0.4mm): The standard for industrial use, recommended on pipelines up to 24" O.D., including insulation. It is used to protect piping, vessels, and tanks which are less than 8 feet in diameter.

020" (0.5mm): Recommended over insulation lines up to 36" O.D., including insulation used to protect towers, vessels, and tanks with a diameter greater than 8 feet.

024" (0.6mm): Heavier roll jacketing is used where extra strength and protection is required.

032" (0.8mm): For areas where extra protection is required, or in custom fabrication of Box covers, tank heads, or heavy wear areas.

Jacketing System

Z-LOCK JACKETING SYSTEM

Z-Lock is a factory-fabricated metal jacketing system used throughout the thermal insulation industry. It is available in

both Aluminum and Stainless Steel. It can be applied over any insulation type. Z-Lock jacketing is supplied in 36" sections with a modified Pittsburg Z-Lock on the longitudinal seam. Each section of piping is supplied with a butt strap. When the butt strap is secured with a Fabstrap, the system is virtually weatherproof. The butt strap is two inches wide which allows for variations in butted conditions.

Elbow Covers

ALUMINUM ELBOW COVERS

Aluminum Elbow Covers are produced from 1100 series aluminum, .024" in thickness, meeting ASTM C-585 standards. All of our Aluminum Elbow Covers are coated on the interior and exterior with a heat cured acrylic enamel moisture barrier. The interior covering helps provide moisture and corrosion resistance to the alloy, while the exterior clear coat helps provides protection against oxidation and corrosion, to maintain protection and finish.

Our Aluminum Elbow Covers are made from two matching halves, and when fastened together they form a precise fit every time.

Sizing:

Aluminum Elbow Covers come in both 90° and 45° degree angles, in sizes from #1- #61 (90°s) and #1 - #16 (45°s). Elbow covers are also available in Large Bore Elbow Covers and Gore Elobw Covers for larger piping.

Product Application:

Aluminum Elbow Covers shall be installed at every angle or bend in a pipe line, over the Aluminum Roll Jacketing. Elbow Covers can be secured by strapping, stainless steel drill screws, or rivets. At least two straps should be used per cover with more straps necessary for larger sizes. The number of screws and rivets to be used varies with the cover size. When fastening with screws or rivets, the exterior and interior center points should be started first, working outwards towards the two ends. It is recommended that an aluminum colored silicone joint sealant be used on all overlaps.

Tee Valve Covers

ALUMINUM PRESSED TEE / VALVE COVERS

Aluminum Pressed Tee Covers are molded in two matching halves from .024" thick aluminum, which has a moisture barrier coating applied to the inside for resistance to electrolytic degradation.

Aluminum Pressed Tee Covers come in sizes from #1 - #10 and can fit pipe insulation sizes up to 6 x 2.

Product Application:

Aluminum Pressed Tees are applied faster than any other type of tee cover because they are pressed to form two matching halves. Insulation does not need to be routed or carved at the throat. Necessary adjustments made during application are minimized or eliminated altogether. Unlike fabricated tee covers, our Aluminum Pressed Tees have less seams and form a tighter weather seal. Aluminum colored silicone caulk should be used to seal all joints.

Aluminum Pressed Tees can also be used to cover valves. The most commmon installation is by adding oversize pipe insulation over the valve casing and/or flanges. Aluminum Endcaps can be used to seal off the edges between the Tee Cover and the OD of the pipe insulation. A third Aluminum Endcap can be used to close around the valve stem.

*Our Aluminum Pressed Tee Covers conform to ASTM C-450 method of fabrication to assure close and correct fitting products.

Pressed Endcaps

ALUMINUM PRESSED ENDCAPS

Endcaps are produced using 1100 series .024" thick aluminum which has a moisture barrier coating applied to the inside for resistance to electrolytic degradation.

Aluminum Pressed Endcaps come in sizes from #2 - #15 and can fit pipe insulation sizes up to 12 x 2.
