CHILDERS CP-9 AK-CRYL MASTIC COATING
(WATER BASED)
DESCRIPTION:
Childers AK-CRYL CP-9 is a polymeric, water based weather barrier, breather type mastic. CP-9 dries to a tough flexible film that protects thermal insulation from the ravages of weather by preventing water, rain, snow, sleet, spillage, wash water, etc., from entering into the system. In addition, CP-9 provides protection from mechanical damage created by external forces such as impact abrasion as well as the internal forces of thermal expansion, contraction, or vibration. Using CP-9 can also protect the insulation from chemical attack of acids, alkalis and solvents. CP-9 is fire resistant and U.V. stable.
|
USES:
Childers AK-CRYL CP-9 Weather Barrier Coating provides weatherproofing and mechanical protection of thermal insulation both outdoors and indoors, in hot, cold and dual-temperature service. Because it is a ‘breather’ coating (vapors under pressure will pass through it), it should only be used over insulations in low temperature, or dual-temperature service when the insulations themselves are vapor barriers, or where a complete vapor barrier system is applied to the insulated surface either before or after the coating is applied.

CHILDERS CP-10 VI-CRYL MASTIC COATING
(Trowel Grade)
DESCRIPTION:
Childers VI-CRYL CP-10 weather barrier coating is a tough, durable, and fire-resistive water based mastic for most types of thermal insulation and finishing and insulating cements. It is very thixotropic - it looks heavy but spreads easily. It is available in a variety of standard and special faderesistant colors. It is outdoor rated and U.V. resistant.
|
USES:
VI-CRYL CP-10 weather barrier coating is unsurpassed for the mechanical protection and weatherproofing of thermal insulations both outdoors and indoors, in hot, cold, and dual-temperature service. However, since it is a ‘breathing’ coating (vapors under pressure will pass through it) it should only be used over insulations in lowtemperature, or dual-temperature service when the insulations themselves are vapor barriers. VI-CRYL CP-10 has also found use throughout the thermal insulation industry as a coating used over closed cell polyethylene and polyurethane foam insulations. Industry experience has demonstrated that all weather barrier coatings may blister when applied over polystyrene board. This effect may be limited by the use of white colored coatings. VI-CRYL CP-10 weather barrier coating in its Metallic Gray color is the ideal companion product to Aluminum and Stainless Steel Jacketing.

LOW ODER VAPOR BARRIER COATING FOR INDOOR APPLICATIONS
DESCRIPTION:
Childers CHIL-PERM CP-30 LO is an extremely effective vapor barrier coating for all low temperature applications. In the wet state, it has an unusual consistency which allows it to be buttered-on in relatively heavy films, or it can be brushed out into thin films. It is made with an elastomeric resin which yields a tough, yet flexible, dry film with excellent adhesive properties.
|
USES:
Childers CHIL-PERM CP-30 LO Vapor Barrier Coating, in the dry state, is a fire resistive, flexible coating for all types of thermal insulations in cold and dual temperature service. As an indoor vapor barrier coating, it is used to vapor seal fittings, piping, and equipment insulated with fibrous glass, polyurethane foams, and other low temperature insulation materials. It is not to be used in direct contact with polystyrene foams. CP-30 LO coating is used as a barrier at the butt joints of pipe and block insulation where intermediate vapor stops are required.
