METACAULK FIRESTOPPING DEVICES

Metacaulk Firestopping Products

MetaCaulk Fire Rated Putty Pads used to block smoke and sound through electrical recepticals and light switch boxes.

METACAULK FIRE-RATED PUTTY PADS

RectorSeal MetaCaulk Putty Pads are used to seal and maintain the hourly rating of fire rated walls and ceilings containing electrical outlet boxes. MetaCaulk putty pads are also used to limit sound transmission through openings in STC rated walls/ceilings. Unlike other brands' products, only one MetaCaulk Putty Pad is required to maintain a 1-2 hour fire rating code. No additional putty material is needed to plug the end of each electrical metallic tube or conduit at its connection to the box. MetaCaulk Putty Pads are hand moldable with no curing time required. Putty Pads have a STC rating 60, Tested in a UL 411 wall assembly/section to ASTM E90.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

(Step 1). Remove plastic liner from one side of pad. Align pad with the side of the box partially overlapping the stud and adhere.  Work pad to the opposite side of the box and over the edges

(Step 2). If wall membrane is in place, pack putty into gaps between box and gypsum board slightly overlapping inner wallboard surface. If membrane is to be installed after pad installation, overlap front edge of box so that putty will be compressed around edges of box as wallboard is installed.  Cut slits in pad to fit around conduit or cables

(Step 3). Press pad to surface of top, bottom, and sides of box

(Step 4). Trim excess at corners and apply to conduit fittings connected to the box. Remove exposed liner. Optionally, putty may be packed into inside of conduit fittings to prevent passage of smoke. Only one putty pad thickness (1/8") is needed for a 1 or 2 hour rating.

Metacaulk Intumescent Pipe Collars are installed around PVC pipes on fire rated wall penetrations.

METACAULK INTUMESCENT PIPE COLLARS

RectorSeal Metacaulk Pipe Collars are prefabricated firestop systems for through-penetrations using PVC, CPVC, ABS, PVC foam core, ABS foam core, FRPP, PEX pipe and electrical cable. UL classified for both open and closed pipe systems.Metacaulk Pipe Collars feature an easy locking mechanism that assures simple installation. The collar’s design greatly reduces the time and expense required to install competitive collars.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

(Step 1). Select the proper collar to fit the diameter of pipe used.

(Step 2). Making sure annular space is within the limits set by the tested conditions, attach collar around the pipe on the underside of the floor or to each side of a wall by firmly placing against the wall or floor and securing interlocking tabs [1 1/2", 2", 3", and 4"] or fastening the buckle [6"].

(Step 3). If needed, mark and predrill wall or floor for required anchors. Properly secure the appropriate anchor into each of the anchoring tabs. In concrete, use 1/4" x 1- 1/4"hex washer head type concrete anchors or appropriate steel expansion/ wedge anchors. In gypsum, use 1/8" x 2" Molly type hollow wall anchors.  Fender washers have been provided to be used with the fasteners.

(Step 4). If an additional smoke seal is required, Metacaulk 150+ may be applied within the annular space before the attachment of the collar.

Rectorseal Metacaulk Intumescent Sleeve

METACAULK INTUMESCENT SLEEVE

Rectorseal Metacaulk Intumescent Sleeve is a firestop seal for PVC, cc-PVC, CPVC, FRPP, PP and ABS pipe and rigid non-metallic conduit installations. Easily installed without modifications, steel bolts or fasteners, the Intumescent Sleeve is an ideal approach for firestopping combustible pipes penetrating the uneven contours of a concrete fluted deck assembly.

APPLICATIONS:

Metacaulk Intumescent Sleeves will firestop both sides of wall when installed from either side and provides a cost-effective alternative to collars for pipes going through walls and floors. The Sleeve can also be used in applications that require retrofit.

The Intumescent Sleeve can be used with PVC, cc-PVC, CPVC, FRPP, PP, ABS and PVDF pipe and rigid, nonmetallic conduits in sizes ranging from 2 in to 8 in.  The Sleeve has been tested for use in concrete floor/ wall installations and concrete fluted deck assembly. For application with 8 in. diameter or smaller PVC and CPVC, the sleeve has been approved with an optional sleeve (S/10 or heavier) cast or grouted into the floor or wall.
